Losing a student

I find myself feeling rather unhappy when I lose a student. This is magnified ten fold when I lose a student with great potential. Despite my very best efforts I occasionally lose students for circumstances beyond my reach. Today for example I have lost a student because their parents would like them to focus on their sports and 11+ studies. This student is so musical but alas this has been deemed less important than other areas of study. I have tried to convince the parents but to no avail! What should I do?
